Shahina RM, Co-Founder and Clinical Lead, is a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse with a diverse clinical background encompassing critical care, emergency services, neurological rehabilitation, mental health, and community-based home care. Her career began in Intensive Care and Emergency Departments, managing acute and life-threatening conditions in fast-paced environments.

Shahina then transitioned into a specialist neurological centre, where she played a key role in the rehabilitation of patients with complex neurological disorders such as Huntington’s disease, Parkinson’s, and acquired brain injuries. Building on this foundation, she moved into the community healthcare sector, delivering complex care packages within clients’ homes, including those with long-term conditions, neurodevelopmental needs, and palliative requirements.

Currently, Shahina serves as a Clinical Lead, overseeing clinical assessments, care planning, risk management, and team supervision. Her extensive knowledge of health and social care services enables her to develop and implement tailored care plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and local authorities. A strong advocate for person-centred care, Shahina leads with integrity, ensuring all services meet the highest standards of safety, compassion, and regulatory compliance under NMC and CQC guidelines.

Her proactive and values-driven leadership style is focused on operational excellence and the continuous improvement of care delivery. As a co-founder of Direct Caregiving, she is applying to become the agency’s Registered Manager , confident that her clinical expertise, leadership experience, and comprehensive understanding of regulatory frameworks make her exceptionally well-suited for this position.

Shahina has developed a robust skill set in clinical governance, safeguarding, risk assessment, team development, and compliance with CQC and NMC standards. In her role as Registered Manager, she will be responsible for ensuring Direct Caregiving operates in full compliance with all statutory requirements while promoting a person-centred approach that meets the diverse needs of our service users.
