Our Team

Our founders

Our agency is proudly co-founded and led by two highly experienced and compassionate Registered Nurses, Shahina Rahman and Rahab Waterlow, whose extensive backgrounds and unwavering dedication form the basis of Direct Caregiving’s mission.

Shahina is the Clinical Director and Registered Manager for Direct Caregiving.

Shahina is a Registered Nurse by profession. She worked as a health care assistant in a hospital before progressing to nursing studies.

Shahina has practised nursing in a number of specialities within the NHS, the most recent being in the Critical Care Unit. She has also worked as a nurse at a private neurological hospital, having a key role in the rehabilitation of individuals with complex neurological conditions.

Shahina has cared for patients within their own homes, providing care to patients with a variety of needs. She has also previously worked as the Clinical Lead for a care agency and brings much experience of staff management and client assessments

Rahab is the Registered Manager and Clinical Lead for Direct Caregiving.

Rahab is a Registered Nurse with experience in several fields within the NHS, the most recent being intensive care.

Rahab also has vast experience of care agencies; in the provision of nursing to clients in the domiciliary setting, supervising and training carers and conducting clinical assessments of new clients.

Rahab has a wealth of experience as a Registered Manager and Company Director, managing and allocating staff, assessing service users drawing-up care plans, and day-to-day management. She has also been an Assistant Case Manager, involving the coordination of all stakeholders in the delivery of care.
